The material of the hand rim performs well against most chemicals, for short periods of exposure, but it is best to avoid contact with chemicals as described in the user manual.
In the case of corrosive materials or solvents, wash of immediately with water or appropriate medium and inspect the rims for any visible surface damage. If there is, contact us with the details.
In the case of paints and varnishes, these can be wiped of immediately and if necessary cleaned up with isopropyl alcohol or thinners. If the paint is cured, it may pop of due to the layer of oil your hands have deposited on the hand rim. Otherwise you can wet sand the paint very lightly with 1000 grit water paper, but not abrading the carbon surface. Or leave it as the paint will wear off with time.
